If you're 14 or older, you'll receive mentoring to develop your coaching skills. If you're under 18, you'll need an adult co-coach to join you.
As a coach, you'll help players build confidence, learn values and form lasting friendships. You'll love watching your players grow and succeed. So please join us to inspire the next generation of Netball Stars!

Coaching netball goes beyond drills to improve passing, dodging defenders, spreading out and shifting the ball down the court quickly. It's also extremely rewarding and a great pathway to a career in sport. Volunteer coaching a community run netball club also looks impressive on your professional CV.
Coaching netball allows you to inspire players to have a passion for sport and build their confidence.
While developing players skill sets, you also teach them about values, morals and sportsmanship.
You nurture an environment where friendships are built that last a lifetime.
The children are so happy and joyful to be part of a team together.
Netball Victoria advertises upcoming coaching courses and clinics regularly. You can see their calendar of upcoming coaching events here.
The minimum age of a SMNC Junior coach is 14 years old. Each Junior Coach receives mentoring to ensure their own coaching development. For coaches under the age of 18, an adult must be nominated as co-coach. The co-coach must supervise all training sessions and game days. If the co-coach is unavailable to supervise a training session or game, they are responsible for nominating another adult (18+) to supervise. This person must have a current Working with Children Check.
